There are some trends that come, and unlike most, become mainstays in our wardrobes, such as skinny jeans, ballet flats and a classic pair of wet look leggings.
When it comes to things I love, London, a good brunch and a PVC legging will always be up there so I was very lucky when this weekend presented a combination of all three.
The key thing with a wet look leggings is that you get what you pay for and a cheap pair will look just so. When it comes to premium brands Wolford is right up there. In recent times I think Kanye West dressing Kim Kardashian in their bodysuits has brought them to the forefront of the pop fashion culture. Their Estella Leggings are the stuff of dreams, comfortable, stretchy, porous and glam.
A perfect weekend spent in London began with an arrival into City Airport, a Friday Indian dinner in Dishoom and Saturday night drinks in The Worship Street Whistling Shop in Shoreditch. When Sunday rolled around our tired selves needed something chilled and wholesome. The brunch menu in The Hoxton Grill is one of the nicest I have ever come across. The setting was also the perfect place to shoot this look.
Think relaxed 60's retro furnishing with all the modern you want, cold pressed juices, perfect coffee and brilliant service and you're getting close to how lush it all is.
Dressing for such an occasion needed something that felt glamorous and cool, it being London, but without trying too hard. My Estella leggings were just the ticket.
When it comes to shiny fabrics, like these leggings, I always think they need to be set off a matt background. A simple TShirt was all that was needed. I love this Zoe Karssen one. Lastly a little bit of sparkle was added with some icing from Lauryn Rose and that really was it. For a bit of comfort I added my beloved cashmere stole from Monaghans, which can be cuddled up in if needs be!
A gold heel always adds a glamour and I love these ones from H&M. They've a real gladiator vibe.
My trusty Pauric Sweeney handbag came along for the ride.
After an amazing breakfast we left feeling like the world was slightly softer. That's the thing about a good brunch and good company. It's reviving and replenishing. London you never disappoint.
