Attending London Fashion week has been a dream of mine for a while. Years ago when I was studying Fashion Journalism in London College of Fashion I attended some shows but in recent years the closest I got was drooling over people's instagram's.

I was beyond thrilled when CND asked me to attend the Vin and Omi show which they were creatively involved in.

Since getting engaged I've become a little obsessed with having nice nails so I am very familiar with Shellac and Vinylux, two of their key products.

First port of call was to get my nails fashion week ready. I have tried plenty of nail salons with mixed results but anytime I have been to Polish I've always been happy with the result and also the lovely atmosphere, tea and chats whilst getting my manicure so I checked in there on the Friday before leaving.

I chose Magenta Mischief from the new season colours as I wanted something really strong as a statement.

On Monday after an early flight to Gatwick we were soon checking into our hotel. I was immediately struck by how welcoming and pretty it was and it had a beautiful cafe in the foyer.

Β With the show to cover we quickly got dressed and headed to theΒ location.Β

Thankfully we had backstage passes so we were whisked into the activity.

Models were everywhere in different states of dress, wigs were being lacquered with polish, and make up and hairspray covered every surface. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted familiar faces- people I felt I knew.. It was Sam and Nick from Pixiwoo who of course I don't actually know but I felt like I did in that weird way that happens when you watch and follow them online.

They were so lovely and chatted away and posed for photos - I couldn't pretend I was too cool not to ask!

Samantha Sweet, the distributor for CND in the UK and Ireland, showed us the amazing nail sculptures for the collection. All were in the CND colours and coated in layers of polish. As were the wigs the models wore.

With about twenty minutes to go the nail sculptures were applied to the models. They truly were works of art.

The catwalk was covered in coloured confetti which was so beautiful.

Myself, Rebecca (The Beauty Inbox) and Amy took our seats and waited. Eyeing up the front row there was an eclectic mix of Made in Chelsea/Towie cast, a wag or two, a girl band, Jo Whiley, alongside Pandemonia who is a near seven foot covered in rubber art installation carrying a blow up scottie dog.

The music switched on and the show began. Vogue Williams strutted out in the fabulous big Bird yellow fluffy custom made wonder. It was great to be so near the photographers in the pit. There was a consistent hum of clicks from their sector.

Afterwards we were all blown away at how quickly what must have been at least six months of work had passed by in the blink of an eye. Having spotted Pandemonia sitting front row I was trying to get a selfie but she was deep in conversation so it had to be a photobomb instead!

We went backstage again to congratulate the designers.. I could get used to this backstage access thing!

Vin, one half of the design duo, was beaming with happiness. You could tell that even though the show was over a serious party was about to begin.

Myself, Rebecca and Amy headed off into Soho to an amazing Asian fusion restaurant called Chotto Matte.

The food was incredible. The crowd was super fashionable and cool and in between prawn tempura I mentally planned a wardrobe detox . My style is not up to London standards!

Checking back into our hotel - The Ampersand - a little box of pastries was left on my bed. Diet resolutions were cast aside at the kind gesture.

The next morning we checked out of our hotel and using a really amazing service called Portr sent our bags off to the airport so we didn't have to lug them around.

Samantha had invited us for breakfast in her hotel - The Ham Yard - which is one of the most divine hotels I've ever been in.

Over rye bread, poached eggs and avocado we took in the glamour and recounted the events from the night before.

We were due to fly home early enough so there was just enough time for a little sightseeing followed by ending on a high with a trip to The Ritz on Picadilly for Tea.

Knackered but elated I arrived home full of the kind of dreams and ambitions visiting a glamorous city like London always gives!

I was invited to LFW as a guest of CND. Opinions and imagery are my own.
