Since making changes to my diet and cutting out red meat I've been trying to become a little more aware and eco conscious in all areas of my life. I still wear leather and have a leather bag I love but overall I am making changes.
When it comes to my make up and beauty products I have found some incredible ranges and products that are so effective and natural - ticking both boxes required! Much more on lotions, potions and make up later but for now I wanted to focus on an important investment I made recently.
I had been keeping an eye out for a good make up brush range that was completely vegan but also of a professional standard and also within my price range. Through research online I came across Blank Canvas which I am sure tons of you are familiar with. What excited me was that they offered a massive selection of their brushes in vegan options. Some brands only had a couple of random brushes. I read loads of reviews online as the last thing I wanted was to invest in brushes that the hairs fell out of or that just didn't do the job correctly. All was positive and I went ahead and bought a capsule brush collection to start me off.
The ones I invested in are:
Base & Concealing:
The F20 - which is amazing for foundation. It's very flat so it's more for buffing it on as against painting it like other brushes but what I really like is that unlike some brushes which seem to absorb product it seems to be far more efficient.
The F42 - which is a big fluffy brush with tapered edge. Perfect for powder and also light contouring.
The F02- the double end on this is so handy. It's a concealer and a foundation brush. The bristles are really taught on this so you can control where you are applying product.
The F17 - is a great concealer brush. It's wide enough that you can cover quite a bit of space quickly but the tip is tapered for more detail places.
The E36 - I love a shadow brush that gets lots of base product on quickly. This covers your whole eye in a few strokes and is also perfect for buffing edges.
The E37 - I love that this is fine enough for lining under and around my eyes.
The E30 - I think the world is obsessed with eyebrows and I am no different! This is such a handy double ended eyebrow brush and I love the angled edge. I'm not quite at Kim O'Sullivan perfection level - honestly I don't know she makes brows look so good- but the right tools help!
I'm not going to get rid of any of my old brushes but gradually as I invest in more pieces I will make sure they are vegan having seen the standard possible. I've been using these for over a month now. So far they are wearing perfectly! It's so cool that options like this are now available.
Have any of you used these brushes or other vegan brush ranges? Let me know in the comments what I should check out!
Next up I am going to be focusing on lots of natural skincare I am loving !
Lots of love
