On the 23rd of December Andrew and I went into Chanel only to find out that something I had wanted for a very long time was sold out..
For about a decade I have loved the classic Chanel flats. I loved the subtle way that even if you were in jeans and a t-shirt they gave a glamorous, yet comfortable nod conveying elegance and style. Personally I think they feel so modern and yet timeless. I owned one pair and they were worn quite literally to death. Having had that experience of practically living in a pair for nearly four years I felt the cost was somewhat justified.
Last weekend they arrived in-store and it was such a lovely moment going in and trying them on and eventually after so much mulling over whether I was a 39, or a 39 1/2 we left with them all boxed up!
I've been reading and watching a lot of Marie Kondo videos and moving forward I want my wardrobe to be more about having a few key elements. Chanel have everything thought through and even the packaging sparks so much joy (her key message) even just looking at the box that I had to photograph every step.
When choosing a flat I wanted something very neutral that would work well in Summer and Winter and also something with a bit of colour. As I wear so much black I wanted an accessory to break it up. I was advised to wear them once and then get them soled by a cobbler to make sure they last as long as possible.
If you see me at any stage over the next five years, whatever the weather or occasion, I will most likely be wearing these because I plan on enjoying them as much as possible!
Let me know what you think of them in the comments below!
Lots of love,
