Finding The Perfect Parka
On shoots I sometimes can't help but keep an eye out for new additions to my own wardrobe. Most of the time I'm really good and have perfected the art of look but don't touch or even think of taking it home but this time I couldn't resist.
I've always been very timeless in terms of my style. I suppose I've never had the budget to seasonally buy things that are likely to date quickly but I also don't really have an interest in embracing fast fashion for millions of reasons but basically I don't think I could keep up with it.
If further proof was needed I remember clearly lusting after a parka in BT2 when I was a 19 year old student which I then got for Christmas that year. Some fourteen years on (*blush*) I still want a Winter Parka! I was filming a fashion story for The Pulse last week on knitwear but I styled some outerwear with the looks also. When I saw this jacket it was love at first sight. Being navy it breaks my codependency with black - a lifelong battle- and it was so light. Some parkas feel like you're carrying a wet duvet around they're so heavy. Not this one. It's also under €50 so I indulged in some practical Winter warmth.
I also love the idea of wearing black and navy together. I don't know where the rule that they shouldn't work together ever came from but safe to say it's kind of irrelevant. That said I did think the denim shirt kind of bought the whole look together. I feel this is one of those reliable looks I will be turning to all Autumn-Winter. I'll add my converse for during the day but if I'm going to an event like I was the day Johnny and I shot this I'll go with a shoe boot. These ones are from H&M.
In other news after kind of ticking through things for a month or so I feel really energised. Wedding plans are going full steam ahead and with seven months to go it's starting to feel real. Those who follow me on snapchat will know how much I love these Pandora Angel wing earrings. I don't wear earrings a lot but I find these really comforting to wear whenever there's a lot going on. I used to be much more metaphysical but I am trying to be more grounded these days and more focused on action rather then just hoping and praying for things to work themselves out. These are a little chic stylish touch to the angelic realm! I'm very sentimental about them. I wore them to all my Pulse interviews, filming my last Xposé and things have always worked out for the best.
Andrew is currently in Paris on an exciting Nutmost project all to be revealed in due course and tomorrowI'm filming a vintage style story on this very cool looking Vintage Tea Bus so keep an eye on my snapchat for a bit of behind the scenes action from that!!
Anyway there's steaming to be done and lines to be learnt so I'd better go !
Till next week,
Lots of love,
