My Ultimate Glowing Green Smoothie*

I've been getting a lot of messages recently asking all about skin. Skincare is something I am passionate about but I know that what I eat and drink plays a pretty fundamental role too. I'm always looking for quick ways to get my vitamins in and having this smoothie first thing, or preparing it the night before, is always a great start. I was first introduced to Udo's Oil over a decade ago when I was on a health retreat in Cloona and now remember why I loved it so much! 

I think we all know not all fats are created equal. I used to take fish oils under the instruction of various trainer's recommendations but as I am moving more into the vegan lifestyle I wanted to see could I get the benefits from a plant based source. When I initially changed my diet I was advised to take a good probiotic and the ones from Udo's were highly recommended. It made such a huge difference and really helped my digestion. I also always take them away when travelling. Now to get my skin wedding-ready I've been taking Udo's oil for over a month now and I am starting to see real improvements in the texture. 

As a beauty secret it's been shown that omega oils keep the proteins in our pores soft and prevent them from drying out as they need these ‘good’ fats to retain water, therefore moisturising the skin from within, plumping it out. Udo’s Oil contains a blend of certified organic seed oils, incorporating Omega 3 (Alpha Linolenic Acid), Omega 6 (Linoleic Acid and Gamma Linoleic Acid) and Omega 9 (Oleic Acid, Monounsaturated Fatty Acids) in the Ratio of 2:1:1. and is cold pressed, gluten free and vegan. 

I go through phases of juicing and always notice the benefits in my skin within a few days so I am trying to stay consistent for my last month!  Below is my favourite smoothie recipe and by adding in the Udo's oil it makes it a much more complete start to my day. You also don't even notice it as it blends easily. 

UDO's choice in a green smoothie

I have been having this smoothie most mornings. It makes 2 servings and it's a great 4 PM snack to have in a flask with you.

Main Ingredients

  • 1 organic cucumber
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 Stalksof celery
  • 1 inch fresh ginger root
  • 2 apples

For blending

  • 1 banana
  • 2 servings of Udo's oil blend
  • 2 1/2 dates if required for a little natural sweetness


  1. Wash and slice the juicing ingredients.
  2. Juice them.
  3. I use a cold-press juicer which takes a little longer but uses less heat and as a result the juice stays fresher for longer.
  4. Blend the juice with 1 banana, the Udo's oil and dates if you want it a little sweeter.

Additional Notes

I always try to double up on this and have it as an afternoon snack too. As it's cold-pressed it lasts for 2 days in the fridge.
