Style Tips From London Fashion Week*

I am just back from London Fashion Week where I had the best time ever. The glamour and the style never ceases to amaze me and I loved every minute of it!

The weather has suddenly changed and after the baltic cold of January it feels a little bit milder. With that in mind I wanted to get a few lighter pieces to wear while over there so I popped into Penneys and picked up this look which I wore on the Saturday to the Jasper Conran show in Claridges. It was great to see all the new collections and think about a few changes I want to make to my wardrobe over the coming months. These are the tips I will be keeping in mind:

Don't be afraid of heels

I go through phases of living in flats and thinking that a heel will be impossible to wear anywhere and I've always been proven wrong. Of course a stiletto is going to be tough on cobblestones but a wedge heel or a block heel like these gives you the elevation and the kind of posture that a heel does, in relative comfort. These were so comfy, even after a few hours of rushing about and the faux suede looks so premium also

Feel free to shake things up a little.

I love a polished look but I also think that your style should reflect yourself. I prefer things a little more loosely draped around my waist for comfort.  This shirt falls down long and by tucking just an edge of it in, the look had shape but wasn't over-structured. It also felt relaxed and not trying too hard!

Statement Outerwear Transforms A Look

I was literally amazed at how many complements I got on this pastel coat. I wore it to the Simone Rocha Fashion show on Sunday (completely magicial) and I thought the colour was really refreshing for Spring. With this look the coat brings it all together and makes it look a little bit smarter but it's also very practical with the pockets. I never wore much pastel before but with the background of the darker leggings it is offset nicely and didn't feel like it was washing me out.

Follow Your Instinct Always

London has such an eclectic mix of both glamour and street style and it is so inspiring. What really resonated with me though is that there is so much unique and personal style. Trends wise this season it's going to be all about Khaki and cold shoulder details but like all trends I feel you should only dabble in what takes your fancy. Seeing so many people enjoying fashion and putting their own stamp on things on the Frow only further impressed upon me that 'to thine own self be true' is a statement that never goes out of style.

I'm so excited to be back home and full of ideas and inspiration for the coming year.

Wishing you all a gorgeous stylish week!

Lots of love,
